New Tip - Odors

There are a few possible causes, especially if a house is vacant:  If the house trap is dry or damaged, so run the water if possible.  If the cap on the house trap is loose.  Make sure it's on tightly.  If the fresh air vent on the side of the house is blocked or buried. Keep it clear.  If there is debris or dirt in the overflow hole in the bathoom sink.  Pour water in it.  If the garabage disposal is not clear.  Flush it with water after each use.  If the plumbing vent stack is clogged.  Have a plumber check it and clear it if needed.  If there is a dead animal such as a mouse or racoon.  And lastly, especially during the summer in closed houses - mold.  Clean it with a proper bleach or borox solution for small areas or have a professional do it for larger areas.
